A British national born in Switzerland, Dr Gabrielle Cissé completed her secondary education studies at the International School of Geneva in 1996 before earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in literature, developmental psychology and early childhood education at Duke University in North Carolina. After graduating with the “Highest Distinction” in May 2000, Dr Cissé pursued her studies at Columbia University in New York in their postbaccalaureate premedical program, before attending University College Dublin (UCD)’s School of Medicine in Ireland. During her studies, she was able to train in the maternity wards of Holles Street and Coombe Women’s Hospital, where she was awarded the “George Bernard Shaw Gold Medal in Medical Essay Writing” conferred by the department of obstetrics and gynaecology.

After graduating in 2007, Dr Cissé returned to Switzerland and began her training in obstetrics and gynaecology at the CHUV in Lausanne and at Hôpital Riviera-Chablais’ Samaritains site. She completed her training at Nyon hospital (GHOL) and obtained her Swiss FMH specialist diploma in obstetrics and gynaecology. In 2015, she opened her practice at the Cabinet Forum Medical Nyon practice (CFMN) whilst working as a specialist registrar at the hospital. In 2019, she accepted the position of consultant in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the GHOL.

Dr Cissé favours a particularly integrative, open-minded and empathetic approach in the care of her patients of all ages, respecting and emphasizing the importance of communication and collaboration during clinical examination and treatment decisions. She is particularly interested in the fields of contraception, gynaecological endocrinology and adolescent gynaecology. A native English-speaker, familiar with other medical systems and practices, Dr Cissé can easily follow her English-speaking patients and help navigate expatriate newcomers with the approaches and recommendations of the Swiss medical system, whilst respecting their own expectations and personal experiences.
